Kony 2012 Campaign
The Internet has been proven to be the most powerful communication channel known to man, designed to allow the immediate sending and recieving of data seamlessly acroos the World. had been quite peaceful for the first couple of months, until the full force of the Kony 2012 campaign hit the web The Youtube video, posted by Jason Russell, an American filmaker, caused an uproar by several Western Nations and Activist groups and the vast worldwide community, reaching 75 million views within days. Many Non-Governmental Organisations donated thousands of dollars to see change come about within the country and American Special Forces Team was deployed to Uganda. Many Africans laughed at the prospect that an alleged terrorist would be causing havoc in East Africa. The Invisible People which was started by Jason Russell was set to make a fortune from the money being donated and furthermore, the remainder going towards supporting military intervention by the Ugandan Army, who are notoriously known in Africa for their brutality and corruption. As citizens of the planet Earth, we need to be aware that not everything that we hear or see is actually true and different perspectives need to be taken into account before over-reacting.
